SAC101 Overview of the Bible

Course Description:
Overview of the Bible is a study designed to provide every student the opportunity to gain a firm grasp of the central message of the Bible. Every major event in Scripture will be arranged and presented chronologically so that the student will know how each story in the Bible relates to every other story.

SAC102 How to Study and Interpret the Bible
Instructor: Dr. Robert Welch

Course Description:
This class investigates the principles of interpretation and application of the Bible. Special attention is given to students developing a clearly defined hermeneutical framework that is biblically and theologically grounded, spiritually sensitive, critically aware, and practically relevant. The goal of this class is to provide a framework for the interpretation of any biblical text.

SAC103 Prayer and Biblical Spirituality
Instructor: Dr. Don Whitney

Course Description:
A scriptural approach to Christian spirituality utilizing biblical, classical, and contemporary materials. This course will assist the student in pursuing with and conformity to Jesus Christ through personal spiritual disciplines such as Bible intake, prayer, fasting, silence and solitude, and journaling.

SAC104 Evangelism and Discipleship
Instructor: Dr. Mike Napier & Dr. Chuck Lawless

Course Description:
This course is split into two sections, the first part will focus on discipleship and taught by Dr. Chuck Lawless. This section is an introduction to discipleship. The material will introduce the student to the basic understanding of Christian discipleship, with a focus on spiritual disciplines. The second part of this course will focus on personal evangelism led by Dr. Mike Napier. This section is an introduction to personal evangelism. This course will introduce the student to the basic understanding of personal evangelism, the importance of personal evangelism in everyday life, how to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and how to lead a person (that is ready to repent and place their faith in Jesus) to a personal commitment to Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.

SACP201 Pastoral Ministry 1

Course Description:
Pastoral Ministry 1 is designed to provide practical pastoral training for shepherding the church.  Students will learn practical and creative ways to meet the needs of their people, including: How to Get to Know Their People, Baptizing, Serving the Lord’s Supper, Weddings as an Opportunity to Share the Gospel, Deacon Ministry, and Counseling.

Course Description:
This course focuses on how to develop the ministry skills needed to effectively serve as a pastor. Topics include new member assimilation, developing leaders, developing a church outreach program, becoming a successful church administrator, developing a church mission statement, how to organize a church wide prayer meeting, reaching inactive church members, how to plan worship services, how to handle church stewardship , and planning the church’s calendar and ministry plan.

Course Description:
This course will focus on the foundational concepts, operating procedures and the skills related to Student Ministry. Learners will develop a basic philosophy of Student Ministry and understand how to apply that philosophy in the context of a Native church. Students will build a student ministry handbook to use in their ministry setting.

NAC206 Women's Role in Ministry

Course Description:
While the office of pastor is limited to men according to scripture, both men and women are created in the image of God and gifted for service in the church. The purpose of this course is to help both men and women understand the biblical basis for women in ministry, to prepare women for ministry, and to help Indian churches strengthen the role(s) of women in ministry.

Course Description:
The purpose of this course is to present the biblical foundations and the practice of multiplying discipleship. Each student will learn what is a disciple and the process of being a disciple of Christ. Students will learn the concept of forming disciples that will multiply into other disciples in the context of group relational discipleship. The course will also assist pastors and local church leaders on dealing with the changes the congregation must make to implement the Great Commission’s fulfillment of making disciples (disciples making disciples) to bring the gospel to people in the context where they live, work and serve.

This course aims to equip the church leadership team in developing a youth ministry focused primarily on the Gospel. It will provide tools that will help you understand the roles of youth ministry in the church and how to develop a proper perspective of youth ministry in the Local Church. In this course, we will be offering the basic knowledge to start a Youth Ministry and know the foundational pillars of Youth Ministry and the challenges facing the generation of young people that God has placed in his church today. We will help pastors understand why Youth Ministry is important and how to involve parents in working with youth. We hope that at the end of this course, pastors and leaders will be equipped so that the Church is built up and the name of Christ exalted.

Course Description:
This course is designed to help the bi-vocational pastor and church planter to sharpen his gifts as a proclaimer of the Gospel. We will give special attention to four areas of importance: 1) The nature of the Bible we have been called to proclaim; 2) The preacher’s spiritual formation; 3) The structure of the sermon; 4) Issues that affect the communication of the sermon. The goal of this course is practical application. The student will demonstrate and be evaluated through hands-on projects of his understanding of the concepts being presented.
